Membership Policies

This is an overview of Sportrock membership policies.  For a complete list of policies, please consult your membership contract.

Cancellation of Membership

To cancel a membership after the initial term, a member must give Sportrock written or e-mail notice by the 1st of the month in which he or she wishes to cancel and full payment of any unpaid dues or indebtedness incurred prior to the cancellation date. Terminating prior to the end of an initial contract term will result in penalties. Penalties may be avoided if documentation is provided as evidence of moving more than 30 miles from a Sportrock facility or medical condition. After the initial term, the contract continues on a month to month basis during which members may terminate without penalty. See below for accepted forms of notice.

Change of Membership Type

Members may change their membership type by written request and upon payment of any additional membership fees, if required. A corresponding increase or decrease in monthly dues will be made. See below for accepted forms of notice.

Freeze Policy

To freeze a membership, a member must give Sportrock written or e-mail notice by the 1st of the month in which he or she wishes to freeze. Each membership may be frozen for a maximum of three months per calendar year. A freeze fee of $5 per month will be billed in lieu of dues during the first month of the freeze (nothing will be billed in the following months of multi-month freeze). Only entire billing months (measured from the 10th of one month to the 9th of the next) may be frozen, not portions thereof. The frozen months need not be consecutive. This freeze policy applies for any reason—vacation, work travel, military, school, injury, etc. Freeze fees will be billed via the automatic credit card or draft dues payment system. After the freeze period ends, the membership will be automatically reactivated with dues drawn from your bank account as before the freeze. If freezing during your contract period your end contract date will be pushed back the amount of time frozen. See below for accepted forms of notice.
